About  The AnA ProjectUSA

Welcome to The AnA Project where artists and performers share their talents making a difference in their communities .
Our Mission is to bring the arts to people of all ages from all walks of life through workshops and performances. We provide opportunities for artists to make an impact within their own community to develop lasting relationships that make a difference.

The AnA Project strives to provide outreach opportunities focusing on young and old alike. In Adult full care facilities, retirement and nursing homes many of the residents range in age from young adult to the elderly, and present a wide variety of both physical and mental challenges where bringing the arts spreads joy. On the other hand, de-funding of the arts in schools has left a creative void among our youth. The AnA Project seeks opportunities to reach these communities as well. The AnA Project is providing workshops in schools, camps and other venues to youths who wouldn't otherwise be exposed to the arts.

Workshops teaching the arts,  give participants a connection to their life and thoughts in a way that can be elusive through usual everyday activities.  The AnA Project crosses the generational divide by providing workshops and performances by youth for the elderly and vs. versa.  A care facility is committed to addressing the physical and mental needs of its residents however, once these needs are attended to, there is little to no funding for further programming … especially in the arts.  Through this outreach, the AnA Project is able to bring performances and workshops with theatre, dance, music, and art to a community that would otherwise never have such an opportunity.

In a workshop setting for example; a team of instructor & performer share their methods of blending art, music and/or dance into one art form.  The team shares their talents and instructs in an intimate setting. The participants draw the movement of a dancer they become the moving model. The instructors, artists  and performers work within their local area usually within 3-5 miles of where they live or work, making an impact in that community while building lasting relationships.  Another such example is our outreach into a women's shelter where the workshop is used as a vechilcle where the participant learns to connect in a safe environment while learning a new language of communicating for themselves and with their children. Through The AnA Project, those who would not otherwise have the chance are able to experience the arts and discover their own inner artist.

In a performance setting for one example, audiences such as seniors, nursing homes, mentally and physically challenged facilities as well as  libraries, community centers,to name a few...  cross the generational divide blending approaches and providing exciting performances in areas that wouldn't otherwise have the arts. The AnA Project is designed to fully integrate all arts;literary, visual arts, dance, performance, and music. Through these venues, audiences are able to see the integrated process of visual arts and performing arts. Both workshops and performances provide the opportunity for those who attend to meet and talk to the artists, gaining further insights into The AnA Project and the arts.
